Cherry Scones

2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt 
3 Tbl sugar
1/2 cup butter

1 cup heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup dried cherries
additional sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In a mixer, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and sugar. Add diced up butter, dribble in cream and vanilla. Mixture will be sticky.
Cover work surface liberally with sugar. Dump out dough and knead in the cherries. (You could substitute blueberries, chocolate chips, other dried fruits for the cherries).
Pat into a circle 3/4” thick. Cut into 8 wedges. Subcut the wedges in half again (when cut into 8 wedges they are really big)
Place on a greased cookie sheet, about 1” apart. Bake for 20 minutes. ENJOY!!
