Aunt Grace Basket of Scraps

Judie Rothermel brings more 1930’s reproduction prints - creating "something new from something old"-  in a collection and BOM fittingly named Aunt Grace Basket of Scraps.
The quilt finishes at 90.5" x 96.5" for a Queen sized quilt or 96.5" x 102.5" for a King sized quilt. The cheerful patchwork border illustrates how even the smallest pieces in one's "basket of scraps" can combine to create one of the best elements of a quilt.  In fact, it’s only the size of the pieced border that differentiates the King and Queen size quilt options -  the yardage requirements are the same for both versions.
Inside the borders, appliqued blocks are sewn to mimic the look of English paper piecing, without the extra work.

The kit includes  the book, acrylic templates, and over 21 yards of fabric to complete the top and binding.

This is a nine month Block of the Month. You can participate on a monthly basis for $22.95/month or purchase the kit all-at-once for $249.

Tranquility

The name of this quilt says it all....tranquility. Gorgeous batik fabrics from the Tranquility collection by Timeless Treasures come together in a peaceful and serene way. The pattern, by A Wing and a Prayer, is written well and guides you methodically through block piecing.

We are having a Tranquility quilt-along on the first Wednesday of each month, beginning on April 4th. The pattern and fabrics will be available for those who are doing it as a block of the month. Those who purchased the kit all-at-once can just bring the pattern and particular fabrics needed for that month.

As a BOM: $22.00/month

Sampler Spree

Jan Patek has been busy doing what she is known for.... fantastic fabric and pattern design. This quilt kit features Lilac Ridge, a fabric Jan created for Moda. She then designed a wonderful pattern to showcase it called Sampler Spree. It is designed in her signature style with traditional piecing and some applique. (The applique can be done by needle turn or you can use fusible web and raw edge applique on your machine. So if you love the quilt pattern, don't let the applique part scare you.)

The kit includes the pattern and all fabrics to complete the top, including the binding.

Kit: $230.00

Postage: $13.65 (if you wish the quilt kit mailed)

The Christmas Mouse

Those who know Bunny Hill Designs know that their sampler's are adorable and this one is no different. The pattern is written in parts so you do blocks in scenes and then put them all together. Follow Maya the mouse throughout the quilt and meet all of her friends including Santa. The featured fabrics are from the Sugar Plum Christmas collection designed by Bunny Hill for MODA.

Kit: $172.00 (includes patterns, all fabric to complete the top including the binding)

Optional Embellishment kit: $22.00 (includes The Christmas Mouse official buttons and 4 skeins of embroidery floss.

Pride & Joy

Kim Diehl has a new BOM! Pride and Joy is a six-month block of the month program (February - July) that features patchwork blocks with classic motifs loved by generations of quiltmakers. Each month for five months, you stitch your way through a variety of fun-to-piece patchwork as they build the center of the quilt. The last month (July) includes instructions for piecing the border and completing the quilt. The fabric packet for July also includes the binding.

Kim designs her fabric collections to have a scrappy yet balanced look, so the work of gathering prints has been done for you! When used as a group, the fabrics blend beautifully and give the impression that many different prints have been gathered together.

Heartland Heritage

Join us on an exciting Heartland adventure with a variety of blocks to be made each month, resulting in a gorgeous quilt top. Select your favorite fat quarters, pull from your scrap bin or shop for new and exciting fabrics to include in your quilt. We will have kits available, as well.

What a great way to grow your quilting skills! The finished quilts will be similar but different, because - like most quilt patterns - the maker (you) is the one who makes the quilt special and unique, every time. This is certainly one of the things I love most about quilting – handmade quilts that reflect the individual creator are always so special.

This eleven-month program begins on Saturday, February 3rd. (The first meeting introduces the blocks for January and February.) Your one-time membership fee ($36) includes all the “SIS” benefits:

  • A beautiful desk calendar with monthly patterns to create the Heartland Heritage quilt. The finished quilt size is 68" by 74".
  • Monthly planning sheets to keep you organized
  • Monthly meetings. Those who can’t get to meetings can join as a quilt-along member.
  • 20% discount off your backing fabric... just to get you started!
  • Monthly rewards and bonus patterns... motivation to keep you going!
  • Membership in The Quiltery’s SIS Facebook group so we can chat and share pics between meetings.

Perfect for beginners and super-fun for all quilters

It's Not a Square

What began as a year-long block exchange* between Carol Hopkins and her quilting friends has developed into a beautiful and unique 12-Month BOM quilt called "It's Not a Square." The finished quilt measures 57" x 78" and features the "American Swatch Book" fabrics by Judy Rothermel that she developed specifically for this program.

This kit includes all the fabric for your quilt top and binding. There are also twelve booklets that coordinate the fabric in the kit with specific blocks from the required Carol Hopkins book, The 4" x 5" Quilt Block Anthology: 182 Blocks for Reproduction Fabrics .

The Anthology is not included in the kit, but if you do not have a copy, it can be purchased with the kit for $23.00 (a 20% discount).  The book has 110 more blocks than the 72 used in the quilt, so it has added value for those who prefer to make a larqger quilt, several different quilts or additional projects. At the end of the program all 72 blocks are set together to make a sampler quilt of 4" x 5" blocks (as pictured).

If choosing to make this quilt with the Block of theMonth program, the payments are as follows:

Month One - $55.00 (this includes all the fabrics used for the blocks because they need to be delivered together...you use almost all of them in the six blocks created in Month One.)

Months Two through Eleven -  $11.00/month (Each month you receive a new booklet)

MonthTwelve - $25.00 (includes the last booklet and the finishing fabrics)

Also available all-at-once for $179.00

*As Carol explains the origins of the Anthology: "The unique feature of these blocks was that they weren't square - they finished at 4" x 5". We recreated some classic blocks and also designed more than 50 original blocks that no one has ever seen before. We ended up with 182 different blocks. We then developed a book containing instructions for making all of the blocks."

BERTIE'S SUMMER

You can purchase this delightful quilt in several ways:

  • In four installments as a block-of-the-month for $20.00/month - OR

Conestoga Crossing

Join us in our Pioneer Journey to make the Conestoga Crossing! Travel back in time to the Oregon Trail, exploring the strong desire of the pioneers to settle the West and create homes rich in history.

The featured fabric collection is Pam Buda’s “Conestoga Crossing”. The colors are some of Pam Buda’s favorites.... deep reds, greens, black, dusty golds, sparked with blue. All are reproduction prints created from antique quilts of the 1800’s. Log Cabin chain blocks surround the large red star quilt center in a stunning frame made by an array of basket blocks. The block size is 12". The quilt finishes at 95" x 112".

Each month, for 12 months, you’ll receive a pattern and fabrics for that month's section of the quilt. Each block includes historical stories about the Oregon Trail and life in the 1800's…stories about preparing for the journey, what is was really like to walk the trail, some of the stops along the way, and arriving at the final destination....the Land Claims office. The final month includes the finishing materials and binding. A Bonus pattern is included to use any fabrics left over at the end.

The program begins now, at the end of January, with the first block, and blocks will be available on the 30th of each consecutive month.

Cost: $28.00/month for 12 months
          All-at-once: $299.00

NOTE: With each of our Block of the Month programs, we keep your credit card number on file for you, and your card will be charged on the last day of the month.  You are committing to purchasing the monthly kits for the entire quilt.  Work at your own pace! All of our BOM participants also receive support and assistance from us whenever needed.

Vintage Rouge

This Vintage Rouge quilt, stylized from the Vintage Rogue fabric by Faye Burgess for Marcus Fabrics, features a classic larger floral with coordinating small-scale motifs.  The combination of gently aged tones of red and sage green with antique beige, offers a look that works all year long and well into the holiday season.

This quilt features Faye's popular Strip-It™ pre-printed stripe layout, which sets the stage as the centerpiece for Vicki Bellino's (Bloom Creek)  creative piecing. With this gorgeous quilt, Vicki introduces English paper piecing and embroidery, and these two classic techniques, combined with appliqué, will become one of your most cherised heirlooms for generations to come.  With 'Love', 'Joy,' 'Peace', and 'Hope' stitched in the medallions, this quilt will also be a favorite holiday quilt every year.

The finished quilt measures 78" x 78".

This is a 6-month BOM at $31.50 for each of the 6 installments ~ or ~ you can purchase it all-at-once for $175.00.
